German Art.
I’ve always loved German Art, especially their modern art such as Neue Sachlichkeit (New Objectivity) and Expressionism. I recently went to a new exhibition at a local gallery on German Expressionism and I came across an artists I hadn’t seen before and his work blew me away, it was stunning. His name is Lyonel Feininger, the picture I’ve used is Gaberndorf II (1924) as I couldn’t find the picture I saw at the exhibition but this is close. Google him and you find many wonderful images.
I love all the sharp angles and the colours he uses, such as dark earthy colours for more industrial scenes and bright colours of towns. They are very modern images and reminded me of Italian futurist paintings of around the same period.
For anyone interested I recommend looking him up
